  • Advising

Developing a strong relationship with a faculty advisor helps students get the most out of their educational programs in the shortest time. Most courses for majors are offered in only one semester each year. Advisors can guide the student through complexities of the curriculum or into a specialized program. The Department of Geology has an undergraduate advising policy in order to ensure that geology majors receive timely and regular academic advising. Advising holds have been placed on all geology majors. Undergraduate students are required to meet with an advisor in order to have advising holds removed.

During the Main Enrollment Advising periods students are instructed to meet with Lisa Hamblen, the Undergraduate Academic Advisor for Geology. To make an appointment with Lisa, please call Strong Hall (4-3500).
