Online Application forms
The application for graduate admission is available online through the KU Graduate School. By completing the online application, you can apply for admission to the Graduate School, for scholarships administered through the Graduate School, as well as being automatically considered for teaching and research assistantships administered through the Dept. of Geology. The University of Kansas charges a fee for internet applications. However, if the fee presents a financial obstacle for you, please email Yolanda Balderas at yolanda@ku.edu for instructions on how to obtain financial assistance from the Department to cover all or part of the cost of your application.
What You Must Supply to the Graduate School for a Complete Application
(Do not send application materials to the Geology Department; they must go to the Graduate School for review.)| 1. | Online Application Form This is automatically received by the graduate school; you do not need to send this in. If you cannot fill out an online application, you will need to obtain a paper application from yolanda@ku.edu (see Alternative Application Forms, below). | |

However, if such a statement does not appear on a transcript, separate proof in the form of a degree certificate or diploma, issued directly by the institution, is required. Failure to provide them could result in delay processing your application. If a student is admitted before completing his or her undergraduate degree, the documentation proving he or she did graduate must be supplied to the Dept. of Geology before the end of the student's first semester at KU. |

| 7. | Proof of graduation and transcripts in English with U.S. equivalency in gradesIn many countries the transcripts issued by universities do not explicitly state whether or not a degree was conferred. Instead, the university provides degree certificates or diplomas. If the student's transcript does not state that their degree has been conferred, we require an original degree certificate, issued by the institution, showing conferral. Prospective students should request that their institutions provide transcripts in English. |
