Dustin studies paleoclimatology and paleoceanography during past warm intervals of the Cretaceous and early Cenozoic. In part, he uses geochemical proxies in terrestrial and marine sediments to better understand past coupling of climate and the carbon cycle over long (Myrs) and short (10s to 100s of kyrs) timescales.
